Wooden Salt Pot - Ash by Such and Such

This large Wooden Salt Pot is made by hand from sustainably sourced Ash. Ash usually has beautiful creamy tones with a subtle grey grain and often features areas of a more mesmerising character. With each one being handmade from a natural material, they are by their very nature unique pieces. The wooden pots look fantastic when filled with salt on a kitchen table or can be used as a place for keeping jewellery and trinkets.

The Ash Salt Pot features a thick 3cm curved wall and measures 14cm in diameter by 9cm in height. A 3cm wide lip helps to prevent salt spilling out when being pinched from the pot. The lip is also slanted in towards the centre so that any salt on the edge falls back into the pot or is easily pushed back in. The wooden salt pots are hours in the making, with each one being individually turned by hand on a lathe and then finely sanded to provide an extremely smooth tactile finish. The Ash Salt Pot is then coated in a food-safe Danish Oil, made up predominantly of Tung Oil, to help protect the wood and prevent finger marks.

An example of handmade British craftsmanship, the Ash pots look great whether in a contemporary or traditional home and will last a lifetime if properly looked after.
