Wooden Utensil Holder (Extra Large) - Ash by Such & Such

Handmade using Ash sustainably sourced from within the UK, this extra large Utensil Holder is the older sibling to the other slightly smaller wooden utensil holder available on the site. A kitchen utensil holder is usually an overlooked item that is visible on kitchen counters in the vast majority of homes and likely used almost everyday. This Wooden Utensil Holder was designed and made with a desire to elevate such everyday kitchen essentials.

Hand turned over a number of hours from a single piece of Ash, the utensil holder is then hand sanded to create a smooth, tactile finish. The natural colour and grain of the Ash is magnificent, and so the utensil holders are left untreated (unless otherwise requested), providing a natural matt finish. By not treating the wood with any oils or waxes, it is possible to fully appreciate and enjoy the tremendous character in the wood's grain and the beautiful natural colour tones. This extra large wooden utensil holder measures (approx) 14cm in diameter, 19cm in height and has a rim that is 0.8mm thick.

The beauty of this handcrafted item eliminates the need to hide your utensil holder out of sight as a necessary but ugly object and instead means you can place it front and centre on your kitchen worktop as a carefully crafted object that is both beautiful and practical. Designed and made by Alastair, each utensil holder is individually made and finished by hand, requiring many hours of work. As each one is handmade using a natural material, there will be variations in the grain and colour of the wood, and also slight variations in size, which is indicative of the material and the hand made process.
