Chunky Spalted Sycamore Bowl by Such and Such

This beautiful handmade bowl is turned from a single piece of spalted Sycamore. The large wooden bowl measures 22cm in diameter, 7.2cm in height and features a thick 'chunky' 2cm wall. The unique coloration of the wood is due to the streaks and lines of varying shades of colour caused by decay in the wood, this is known as spalting. One of a kind, the bowl has been turned on a lathe and finely sanded to give a very smooth tactile finish. The wood has been left untreated so as to retain the natural colour and feel of the wood.
