Proof started in a garage in Eagle, Idaho making handmade sunglasses from sustainable woods. The company was founded by three brothers, Brooks, Taylor and Tanner Dame, and although it was started in 2010, the roots of Proof stretch back 60 years to the founders’ grandfather, Grandpa Bud. Bud originally drove trucks carrying coal around the US. On one journey a customer approached Bud unable to pay his bill. Bud agreed to accept some wood moulding equipment as payment for amounts owed. Bud then used the tools to start a company and over the years turned a small sawmill into a nationally recognised business, Woodgrain Millwork.
